If I was a Rich Girl, I'd Match my Clothes, If I was a Weathly Girl

I'm still felling really lethargic.

While I was watching The Office this one quote from Dwight made me laugh so much. "Wait less matching to appear more rich?" That totally sounds like something my dad would say. After I heard that on the show I couldn't stop laughing. Perhaps the person who wrote that knows my dad. When I was a kid he would always tell me that matching monochromatic clothes gave off the appearance that you are rich. When he use to work in an office he use to coordinate his underwear with his socks (true story!) LOL XD He use to get me to dress like that when I was a kid. I liked the monochromatic look when I was like 4. It reminded me of contestants on Double Dare. The monochromatic look really works if you are a Loli, a Color Kid from Rainbow Brite, or doing some kind of photo spread for a magazine.

I thought it was funny when Erin didn't understand the concept of disposable cameras. How old is she suppose to be? Erin is a bit off. At least she didn't think there was some kind of outside packaging on the camera.

Blame Me in the East

It's been so hot for the past few days. Record breaking hot. I expect this scorcher to come to the east soon. I'd give it a few days. My parents tell me that it won't be going that far. What do they know? None of us have a degree in meteorology. It was so hot it broke a temperature record set in 1990.

I wasn't even in the mood to go Halloween shopping. I still did anyway. I still couldn't find anything that I liked. I'm leaning towards something scary.

This spaghetti costume is ugly. Why is it labeled "spaghetti"? The only Halloween costumes that should be labeled is when somebody dresses up as some kind of packaging or they are wearing one of those old style smock costumes. I guess I don't have any taste since Simon Doonan designed them. The dog version of this costume is really cute though.

I like these spaghetti costumes better.

Heathcliff has a plastered on Cookie Jar logo. Which made me miss the Dic one a little. I got some bad info about Magi-nation being season 2 episodes, but they are just the season 1 episodes for now. When I watched She-ra on the new Qubo Night Owl block. As I'm watching these old cartoons I just pretended I'm watching old commercials.

Reminiscing about Holly

This will be the last time I complain about Roberto's announcing. Unless he gets the job as announcer. He is just auditioning. I just want to say one thing about the role of the announcer on The Price is Right. That person has a pretty important role on the show. They describe the prizes and narrate the showcases. But if the show changes way too much I'll say it won't make it past season 42. It's on 39 right now. They have already gotten rid of the pantomimed showcases (which I personally liked), got rid of animals up for adoption (I heard that was discontinued due to Drew using a cordless mic and that the frequency would bother the animals), Adding random celebrities in the show, and too many theme shows. I do enjoy the Halloween ones. I'm not sure who the show is trying to cater to. College students?

When I first got the internet I found this website that had all these old tv theme songs (audio files) and it also had (the old) The Price is Right queue music. I would play it and announce fake prizes over the music. If I was a real announcer I would be a horrible one. I tend to mumble things. Here's what I would sound like "Bikes (mumbling)...Huffy." I use to think that voice over work and voice acting are the same thing. Speaking of queue music did The Price is Right start using old Finders Keepers queue music?

I have mentioned Holly occasionally in my blog. I remember some of the games she would help with like turning the turntables for Plinko and punching the numbers on the giant calculator for Check Out before it became automated. I'll rephrase that the game became automated sometime after she left the show.

I didn't realize the median age of people who watch the show is 63. So that means me and an 89 year old are evening it out.

Ready to go not to go to School in Thinner Shorts

The recent hot spell is making me feel lethargic. I’ll have to pull out my slightly thinner shorts. (A little Conan O‘Brien humor) :P

I went to the dollar store and picked up a few accessories. They might possibly be used for a costume. I picked up 2 pairs of gloves. A long black pair. They were made irregular. The thumb part is as long as the fingers. Well they were a dollar. I think my mom and I can alter the thumb part. I got a pair of “witch” gloves. They are just black gloves with long glittery fingernails glued onto them. I think I’ll add a clear coat of nail polish to keep the glitter from falling off the nails. I picked up a devil dress up set. It’s just a headband with horns and a tail. I’ll have to get my own pitch fork. I bought some creepy cloth. It is usually not suppose to be used for costumes and is for decorative proposes only. I think I can use it to make a creepy shawl or something.

I got an email from one of my former classmates. I didn’t notice it. I haven’t checked that account in 2 days. I accidentally found the message when I was looking for another email. Never mind it was for something that already happened. It’s like that time I tried to join the anime club and missed the email. It included some pretty dorky (unrelated) things. How do they expect to get the whole group together again? Isn’t it like Humpty Dumpty? I for one can say I’m not coming back. Well not by choice, but like I said before unless I fall ass backwards into some money really really soon I won’t go. They can have withdrawals before the class happens. Should I quote Glee and “Run Baby Run” again? I’ll ponder that while eating fries (or should I have international desserts instead?) and listening to the song. I got a proposal for somebody who really wants the group intact they can pay all my fees and stuff to bring me back to class.

I really liked this note Shirley recently posted on facebook. I'll also mention her new song "Lighten Up". It's a rawer song than the ones she previously posted. I like the simplicity of it. I like it more than "Pretty Horses" but less than "In the Snow".

You know what songs I’ve been listening to lately? “Ready to Go” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous” by Republica. “Ready to Go” is a great video. A lot of people confuse Republica with Garbage. Even when I was younger I could tell Saffron’s voice from Shirley’s.

Lupin the 3rd series III (my final thoughts)

Now that I have watched all of Lupin the 3rd series 3. I can agree that the character's design improve towards the end of the series. I know what bothered me about Fujiko's design so much. It was her eyes. They just looked strange. Especially the bottom lashes. It looked like she was wearing too much mascara and got "spider eyes". Goemon also looked poorly designed. His face looked weird. About halfway through the series they started looking better. I don't know why Jigen has brown hair in this series. In the other 2 his hair is black. Lupin's face looked goofier than usual in this series. The character design of the other characters not the main 5 looked simplistic and most of the women looked the same. They just had different hair. Some of them looked a lot like Fujiko (and they weren't her is disguise)

The episodes were in my opinion hit or miss. I either liked them or thought they were boring. Some were really funny though. I really liked the episode "A Cocktail Named Revenge"(episode #30). It's very Hamlet-esque.

More Costume Ideas

I still haven't come up with a costume yet. I really wanted to make a McRib costume, but I'm not exactly sure how to make one. I'd need at least 1-2 years to work on that. I was also thinking about dressing as beef jerky, but I wasn't sure how to make the costume the right texture and what materials to use to construct it. I was thinking either expandable spray foam, a brown vinyl tablecloth or a mattress pad. I want to dress as a piece of jerky it's self and not a bag. A bag costume would be easy. All you would need to do would make some kind of beef jerky label. Sometimes food costumes can fun, interesting and creative.

My mom keeps suggesting really lame costume ideas. Some of them aren't even costumes. She keeps telling me about wearing headbands. Like those one that are decorated with Halloween stuff. They have like a felt witch hat or a felt pumpkin glued to them. Another suggestion was to glue black tulle to a headband I don't even know what that would be. Is that some kind of costume or something?

I picked up these cute hair clips. The scan came out blurry. The cat on it reminds me of the cat from Emily the Strange. Is she still popular anymore?

I watched the season 2 premiere of Glee. It made me think about dressing as a character from the series for Halloween. I can't dress as Rachel because I don't have any clothes that make me look home-schooled. I wanted to dress as Sue, but I don't have any tracksuits. Plus I'd have to get a short blond wig. After watching the show I wanted a New York City shirt like they wore when they sang "Empire State of Mind". I'd get a shirt like theirs and sing the song. Only Gleeks would know what I'm dressed as. I'm not going to fully recap the episode, but I thought the funniest part was when Rachel and Sunshine were singing "Telephone" in the bathroom, and Sue tells them to "Shut Up!". I laughed so hard during that part. Sunshine had a really cute Hello Kitty backpack.

Here are some other costume ideas I came up with. They might be lame. A 90s costume and a devil. It would be cool to dress as a character from a music video, but an older one. Like the light bulb head man from the "Push It" video. But nobody would really get it unless you are a Garbage fan. What if I come up with a costume that is from a music video, but still looks identifiable. Like if I dressed like Gwen from the "Simple Kind of Life" video. People would just think I was a pink haired bride or something.

After I wrote that blog yesterday about This tv's new kids' block I remembered that I wrote a review for that Dance Revolution show in my old myspace blog. I'll post it in my archives blog.

Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one Should

This was originally going to be a blog about stickers, but I decided to combine them.

I'm very excited that Heathcliff will be on This TV soon. They are showing a few older shows like Inspector Gadget. (which I don't care for) They are going deep into the Dic/Cinar/Cookie Jar library. Maybe they will eventually show Photon and Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. They are also showing Sonic Underground which I never got to see all of. They are showing The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. This is the version with Tails, Scratch and Grounder. "I'm waiting!" One of my favorite episodes was when there was a country song written about Sonic. The Wacky World of Tex Avery is on this block too. Pompeii Pete was my favorite segment.

There are also some shows that are not really my taste. That horrible Dance Revolution show. Cake was a good show. Too bad they only made 13 episodes. I got sick of watching the same ones.

At least they aren't showing The Littles oo The Little Clowns of Happytown. Never really liked those shows.

The Pink Panther Show is on this block, but it is not a Cookie Jar property. It's MGM who has part This TV. Maybe they will eventually show Pink Panther and Sons or the 1990s Pink Panther cartoon where he talked. I'm not sure who owns the rights to the sons cartoons.

I wonder if they can't show programs like the Get Along Gang and Rainbow Brite because they are ultimately owned by the company that created them American Greeting and Hallmark respectively. I would have added Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater, What-a-Mess, Kissyfur, and Beverly Hills Teens to the block.

I don’t know why people confuse Heathcliff with Garfield. Ok, they are both striped orange cats who are in comic strips, had their own cartoon series in the 80s, and their voice actors are dead Mel Blanc and Lorenzo Music respectively.

Here are some scans of my Heathcliff stickers. They combine two 1980s sticker trends. The great thing about these stickers is they are both puffy and scented. They use to smell like grape. I don’t know why my scanner tends to make the pinks washed out. They are much more vibrant than that. The hearts weren’t scented. You can see the scent on the stickers it’s that textured part. In the stickers Sonja was depicted with different colored bows. In this comic she has a red bow. In the cartoon she always wore a pink bow.

This cartoon had a big influence on me. When I was a kid I use to hit trash cans with a sick like he did and got in trouble. I always wanted a Catillac like the Catillac Cats had. Here's a picture of Cleo for the fans to lust after.

Former Price

I had been planning to write a blog about Heathcliff all summer, but never got to it. There is this one picture I needed for my blog that I can't seem to find. It's a picture I physically own. Well it won't make or break the blog if I can't find it. I'm hoping to post the Heathcliff blog tomorrow. Here is a picture of him as a treat.

I was watching the new season of The Price is Right today. I just can't get into the new announcer. Did they mic the models? Liked when they were silent. I don't know maybe the show has changed too much for my taste.

Comics and Pirates

I thought it was going to be worse today. With my sneaking suspicions about my dad wanting to go to the local comic book fair. I thought he was going to take his sports cards and try to sell them there or something. It really wasn't that bad. He decided to take the junky Buick. It was hard to park in the small parking lot. Somebody there had a Bumblebee Camaro.

The event was pretty small. It was all local artists. I didn't even take any pictures. Some girl was trying to sell me an app. It wasn't like I was going to buy it anyway it was only for ipod touch, iphones and ipads. Which I don't even have. It was really loud in there with a DJ, other people talking and somebody giving a presentation slide show.

I totally forgot about pirate day even through I wrote about it on twitter. There were some people there wearing pirate hats. At first I thought they were just looking silly. There was some cool stuff for sale, but I didn't buy anything. Nothing really caught me. I did take some fliers and stuff. A lot of the artists there have deviantart accounts. We didn't stay too long either.

The best part of all was that my dad didn't act stupid or make a scene.

Miscellaneous tv blog

I saw the first episode of Angel's Friends. I'm not as confused about the show as I use to be. The angels and devils have to take turns influencing the human who has free will and the choice is ultimately theirs. They go to school on earth, but they learn angel or devil things. Miki had to repeat her first year.

I'm wondering how Shit My Dad Says does in the ratings. If it's a hit or a flop. Or somewhere in between. Maybe it will inspire more people like me in hopes of posting something on the internet and getting their own tv show.

One of the local channels has been showing a Portuguese dub of Thundercats. It's interesting. It was the same channel I saw Kyojuu Tokusou Juspion on. I think the Thundercats cartoons are ripped or something. They also show the old Famous Studios Superman cartoons and Galaxy Trio. The Galaxy Trio cartoons have a Boomerang watermark on them.

This is News?

Why does a baseball team manager leaving the team after the season qualify as breaking news? What should I expect that station breaks into regularly scheduled shows to show high speed chases.

Miscellaneous blog #37

Watched Fashion's night out yesterday night. Too bad Gwen wasn't in it much. Good thing Letterman was on vacation or he probably would have bitched about that.

UTB is showing a new drama and replacing the 10PM anime :( They are showing Keitaideka Zenigata Ai. If they show 6 of the different series that will be 183 episodes. There is a 7th series that has 13 episodes. Plus those episodes will make 196. I'm not sure if there is an 8th series or more. There is not much on this series. When I first read the title I thought it had something to do with the Lupin character.

Congrats to Tony Kanal! He and Erin are having a baby. He is the last member of the band to have a kid (core 4 members). I wonder if he will have a boy? Everybody else in the band has a boy.

I'm still really suspicious about my dad being enthusiastic about the comic book festival this weekend. Maybe he is going to try and sell his sports cards or something.

Saw the new season of Survivor. Tip #1 don't talk over Jeff. It's better to keep to yourself than to blather on at tribal council. "Fabio" was hilarious. He sort of remind me of Toast from Histeria or maybe that Eek the cat cartoon that Fabio guest starred in. I was just waiting for Jimmy Johnson to sell me some man pills or something. I was raised not to like the Cowboys. Especially since a lot of football fans in LA became Cowboys fans after the Rams and Raiders left. His name is common. Some people were confusing him with the race car driver. It would have been like my James Brown dilemma which coincidentally involved a football commentator. Too bad some of the older and younger people from my last class could have been on the show. I'm sure the popular guy would have entranced a few without him knowing it.

knockoff dresses

After seeing pictures of Lady Gaga's meat dress. (I can't believe I'm writing about her.) She was trying to make a statement or something, but did she get the idea from watching Wordgirl or something?
I got an idea for the Gaga fans. Do they have a special name? Somebody should make a meat print dress that way people could copy her look without having to wear real meat. Like those bacon wallets.
I got the idea from a dress I saw at Junior prom. I saw a girl with a knockoff Jennifer Lopez dress. It wasn't exactly like hers it was green camouflage print and there was a nude colored tube bra sewn in.
A meat dress would be a good thing to wear for a Lady Gaga Halloween costume. It's hip and relevant.

I think she should copy cartoon characters for fashion ideas. Recommend Porky Pig and anime characters in general. Or maybe a dough or bread dress.

A Relevant Halloween

I'm not saying Halloween is irrelevant. I like the holiday. I've been having trouble coming up with a Halloween costume. I thought I should be something relevant. Something that screams 2010! I couldn't really come up with anything that I was willing to dress as.

I do not want to dress as the following:
One of Tiger's mistresses
Snooki
Ke$ha
Lady Gaga
Katy Perry
One of the Kardashians
An Avatar character

The one idea that came to me was the oil spill! So relevant! Apparently it isn't all that creative. There is a BP "inspired" costume. I want to dress as the spill itself. I'm still trying to figure out how to make some oil for my face. I kinda feel bad since it's not very original I feel like George in "The Seven."

I'm also thinking about being a "double rainbow". Not the guy, but the 2 rainbows.

You only get one chance to be something relevant to the year. Otherwise your costume becomes "dated" and makes no sense. I don't think people would go around dressing as Monica Lewinsky this year. So 1998! You can be a pirate or slutty Strawberry Shortcake anytime.

It made me think about last year when a bunch of people dressed as "balloon boy", Octo-mom and Swine Flu.

What is a good futuristic costume? I mean like a character from an upcoming movie?

I like to add two things together like a zombie newscaster. But a lot of times they just sound arbitrary. I'm still kickin' around the idea of the twitter bird. I was going to dress as it last year, but I was too sick to make the costume. I hope nobody want to show me their "tar balls". :/

Here are some other non-2010 relevant costume ideas I have:
A nun
My Little Pony (G1 80s-early 90s)
A pink fairy
Easter Bunny
Butterfree
A playing card
A youtube video
A galaxy
A photo

PS thanks for all the hits for people looking for slutty costumes from the blogs I posted last year.

Yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of Shirley's tv acting debut as Cathrine Weaver. I can't believe it's been that long. I'll never look at urinals the same way again.

Here is something funny. When ever I look up something on the character Cromartie I get a bunch of results about the football player. Instead of the character played by Garrett Dillahunt.

Angel's Friends VAs

I finally screencaped and analyzed the credits. I don't know that you can see it very well. It looks like Raf is voiced by Lisa Adams. According to the IMDB she voiced May in Pokémon. Angel's Friends is not listed. Although the character sounds more like Bloom who is voiced by Liza Jacqueline. I can't really make out the name of URIE's VA. I can't make out the next character's name, but she is voiced by Lisa Ortiz. Like I mentioned before her voice is very distinctive. It looks like Sweet is also voiced by Lisa Adams. I can't make out the next name. Gas is voiced by Dan Green. I thought I heard his voice in that show. I can't make out the name after that. The professor is voiced by Mike Pollock.

It was really hard to make out the names because the channel is a subchannel and the compression rate is 2Mbps. According to RabbitEars.Info. Also the DVD I recorded it on was on LP mode.

Here are some screencaps for you to enjoy. These are from the opening credits/theme song.

Here are 2 other caps and a picture I found. Here is a link to some character profiles.

Crushed like a Panini

When I went to the mall to buy pants I found an arcade. They had some driving games. I thought maybe I could go back and practice on them. Too bad a lot of them had fake shifters. I didn't really get to look at it because I had to rush for that job interview.

The interview was a bust! A BIG FUCKING BUST! First of all the directions to the place were wrong. The posting said the place was at Atlantic Square, but when I got there the address didn't match up. The addresses in Atlantic Square are in the 2000s and the address in the posting was in the 500s. There were also landmarks mentioned that didn't match up. Needless to say we couldn't find the place. :(

I think a lot of people won't be able to find it if the directions are wrong. It really sucks too. I really wanted to work at that place.

Sandwiches and Summer

I'm working on another blog about Angel's Friends. It's gonna take me a while to write.

It's so hard to find work this week since it's Labor Day. I love Conan's Labor Day tweet. "It's the last weekend of summer, unless you live in LA, where it's the 198,789,960 weekend of summer. Chew on that, Halifax, Nova Scotia."

Poor Shirley, her dog is sick. :(

I'm applying for a sandwich shop tomorrow there is an interview too. I hope I get the job wish me luck.

Tattoo Bracelets

I was thinking about tattoo bracelets. Remember when everybody use to wear these in the late 90s? Like 10 years ago. I found one when I was cleaning. They should come back in style.

I Need Professional Help! (with driving)

I thought I would be so much better at driving now. I'm not comprehending as fast as I would like to. Maybe I need to go to school. I mean driving school. A good one.

When I was coming home from driving I saw the people setting up for their yard sales. I was happy that I was not having one.

I did a little research through yelp. I mostly found bad reviews of the local schools or no reviews at all. Maybe I'll check yahoo local.

The Lamest of Lame

Why is my dad suddenly taking an interest in what I like? He wants me to go with him to a comic book festival later in the month. I'm perplexed and I sense something fishy. He hates comic books they are "nerdy" to him.

I have some gripes with the KROQ Labor Day-to-Z countdown this year. "Q" was missing. Why not play "Queer"? That is the lamest of lame not to play that song.

I'm happy to say this year I'm not throwing a lame yard sale. They were just so disastrous.

I'm thinking about watching the new John Cena movie. But I only will if it is at a theater near me and if it is at one I can use my gift card at. Otherwise I won't see it.

Supposed Reunion

I thought there was going to be a reunion today since it is 9-02-10. Wasn't there a supposed reunion with the cast members from the 1st series. Not the revived CW version.

The Bad Touch

I was going to spend this blog lamenting about how I can't come up with Halloween costume ideas. What I like to do is take 2 things and put them together for a costume.

I was thinking about that it is the 1st of September, and people will think it will be fall in a few days.

What about that Discovery Channel guy? When I heard this story I immediately thought of the song "The Bad Touch". My parents didn't get that reference. I thought about the lyric "You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals" . Then I got nostalgic for the song. It was really big back when I was in high school. There was this one shirt that had 2 monkeys on it (boy and a girl) that had that lyric on the bottom. I remember one year for an assembly my class (graduation year) did a skit set to that song. Some boys danced to the song in boxer shorts.

It's funny because today I was thinking about being open minded and giving things a chance.
