I went to apply for a Statue of Liberty waver job. I figured why not? I don't have any experience, and the job didn't call for any besides a high school diploma; which I already have. I didn't want to go the day before because going to a job interview on your birthday would be really depressing.
The DVD they showed for training was one of the most cheesiest things I ever saw. I wonder if there is one up on youtube or something. It could literally be a parody of a job training video. Plus they wanted the employee to do crazy things like handstands. (I could never do those) I'm not going to attempt gymnastic moves and get hurt and fall in the street. In a nutshell the DVD is essentially telling you to look crazy and perky and have fun doing it.
I sucked at it I was tired before I got there, and I really had no idea what I was suppose to be doing. They want you to twirl the sign like a baton, but you can't really. The sign is bulky and heavy and not stick shaped. I can twirl a baton or other stick shape items like brooms or mops.
There were a few problems along the way. I almost caused an accident on the street and I tore my pants on the cuff.
I'm really desperate for money!
