Tough Shed

Rachel's dress at the party looked like something straight out of the 70s. I understand why she wanted to shed her good girl image. Those stay with a person for a long time. I bet I still haven't shed mine since high school and that was about 10 years ago.

A lot of people thought it was a fake put on or a show. I just wanted to look respectful. We would get in trouble if we were caught cursing, so people thought I didn't curse. (this was a public high school) Occasionally I let one slip. Once I got to college I let the expletives fly. It was more relaxed and, I didn't need to watch my words as much.

It was funny when the principal kept mispronouncing Ke$ha's name he would call her K-e dollar sign ha.

The thing I wondering is why hasn't some form of student government been introduced into the show? Like a class president or something. The other thing that bothers me about the show is that I'm pretty sure that all the members in the club are in the same grade. I never belonged to a club where everybody was in the same grade unless it was something like a freshman class meeting or class of 20xx meeting.

Radio Reminder

I totally forgot it was a holiday weekend. I didn't realize until I heard special Presidents Day radio programming. I feel like Mr. McKormick from South Park "When you're unemployed weekends are meaningless."

I don't mean that Presidents Day is not important. I just forgot.

Doomed Humans!

It's not good.

It's official Watson beat the humans! We are going to be enslaved! To be honest I didn't really have a lot of faith in the humans. Watson was programmed with a bunch of information and old Jeopardy questions. The Wikipedia was even programmed into him. I wonder what would happen if Watson used a vandalized page for reference? And there was so little on the subject that he had to use it and then got the question wrong.

Watson did inspire me to make a Halloween costume. I put that down in my Halloween relevant idea book. I'm just trying to think about how I would build it. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of Watsons this year for Halloween and people dressed up as the Lady Gaga egg unless she wears a more outrageous outfit later in the year. I guess there could be the obvious variation "sexy Watson"

Fashion Anthem Comeback

When Will mentioned anthems on Glee the first song that came to mind was Good Charlotte's "The Anthem". I had my own Brittany fashion moment. Once when I was like 19 I bought leg warmers because I thought they were arm warmers. In my defense it was at a Hot Topic store and they were on sale. When I got them home I realized there were no thumb holes and, then I read the label they were leg warmers. I only wore them a few times. I think they snagged on my boots. It was funny when Brittany said she didn't know if it was summer or not because she didn't know how to read a calendar. It reminded me of when I was in 4th grade and some girl told me to always wear shorts when the sun is out. Until my mom mentioned that the sun can be out on snowy days!

Rachel trying to start a trend was so funny! A similar thing happened to me. I'm convinced that I started the Pokemon t-shirt trend at my high school. Like Rachel it didn't catch on until cheerleaders started to wear them. I didn't convince a cheerleader to wear the look.

Have you seen Watson? My dad complaining about not being able to see it because ABC 7 was having technical difficulties.

I saw Gwen's hair dye commercial it has trite song references. It was ok, but it could be better. I mean "Rocksteady shine." Come on! *groans* I could have written a better script for Gwen.

Flaunt It Girl!

I think Valentines Day is one of the most commercial holidays in the US. I think even more than Christmas. Christmas in not about one thing. It's about as many things as a person can think of. It can be religious if one wants to be. Valentines Day is about one thing and one thing only; romantic relationships. And I'm telling that to the bald-ish yellow shirted boy looking for a real Christmas tree.

It's funny when I was reading my old magazines with contradictory articles one says about how awesome it is to be single and the one next to it says about how great it is to have a boyfriend. Then there'd be some other article about red clothing and a salute to lipstick or something like that.

The thing I really hate is when women are all flaunting their relationship or when people just starting making out in public. Or all the people who complain about only receiving $5 carnations. Good thing I didn't leave the house today! The day wasn't all bad. I'm just happy I'm not in high school anymore!

One year I'd really like to throw an anti-valentines party with black and green decorations and play break up songs.

Crafty Heart

While looking through old magazines I found this in an issue from 1999. The green "page me" heart looks so dated. There is a major flaw with this craft. It uses real candy hearts. There are a lot of problems with this. Candy hearts crush easily. It doesn't say to use any type of sealer or something. Wouldn't that make the craft prone to vermin?

Then I found this craft. It's a conversation hearts bracelet, but the hearts are made of clay. If those two projects are combined together the candy won't get vermin. These ones are covered in resin.

I've also been having fun going on yahoo and reading all the desperate postings of people who don't know what to buy somebody, feel worthless because they are single, and the ones desperately looking for dates. I like the really vague questions like "Does anybody know where I can buy a Valentines bear?"

I want to pose a question: at what age does Valentines Day stop being fun and turns into flaunting and desperation?

Miscellaneous blog #40

I want to say writing about a nipple aka nipplegate I hope there won’t be a bunch of people looking for pictures of nipples. There are none on here.

Since I have to wait at least 2 weeks for my results from the dean. I hope I didn't inadvertently mention that to my dad. After the 2 week period he'll make me keep calling the school. I don't want it to be like ride share all over again. He had me keep calling this girl for ride share.

I think I should try and take on a bunch of things at once in case the school thing doesn't work as quickly as I thought it would. But if I do that I might run the risk of having too many obligations.

My application got rejected by Harbor Freight tools. I forgot I applied for there. I think I did like back in May.

I called that place again and they still haven't updated their recording. It's been the same one since November!

One place I applied to is hiring again. Does this mean the workers are quickly moved through or that the people are unhappy there. I'm not going back since the last time I was the interview didn't go well.

Best Frier (Engrish Brog)

To my Best Frier:

Here is some Enrgish on some cards my mom bought. "Gifts of cash and gift cards are always appreciated."
I think the Engrish on this page is from the Janet Jackson song "Together Again"
I didn't know there is a day of the week called "Frnday".
Did you know the sky is blue?

And Now We Wait

When I walk into the counselor's office there is classical music playing. When the counselor is filling out the paperwork this really intense classical music was playing. It was just so fitting and reminded me of some old commercial project I did in 6th grade. She said she didn't understand my I needed academic renewal, and I didn't either. She said the process will take about 2 weeks. I thought it was going to take longer. After she explained everything to me I still really don't know how it works. Maybe I can get some spring semester classes as an add in. If it doesn't work out I guess I can go to the animal shelter unless I get a job. I guess they are right to not mess around, and go to 2 different community colleges. I learned this the hard way. At least I didn't attend them concurrently.

On the ride home I saw a lady using a very unusual phone. It reminded me of something from Laser Cats. I looked it up it was a Sanyo Incognito. She was talking into it in a funny way. She was talking in to when it was opened like a clam shell. I also saw a guy doing air guitar including chords. He was really rocking out and really bobbing his head. I was so tempted to tweet about him.

I'm thinking about putting the pencil back to the paper. I'm thinking about drawing again, but I haven't decided yet. Maybe I'll just get some ideas out, and see how I like my drawings. I haven't drawn anything original in awhile.

I really like the way non-Cheerios Brittany dresses. I really liked Santana's headband that she wore for Valentines Day with the pink bow. Rachel's heart pajamas and Mercedes' sock monkey pajamas were really cute. Finn's kissing booth was very Peanuts-esque. He asked for dollars. Lucy would ask for coins and shake the can that collected them in. How is "Lima" supposed to be pronounced? Quinn says it one way, and Santana says it another. Lea Michele's voice worked really well for "Firework". When I first heard that song I thought it would be a good fit for her. I really wanted to see in Emma in a Valentines Day outfit. That holiday would seem so her style with her cardigans and Mary Jane shoes. I was saddened by the lack of Sue I would've like to see her ranting about Valentines Day during her news segment. Maybe she is too depressed to rant. I guess since she was the focus of the last episode she was absent from this one.

There is no Love

Let's go a little old school with this blog. Carnac the Magnificent style. Me, my father, and a person with a bad head cold. Name three things that have no taste.

I was thinking about what I said yesterday about the halftime show. Was I too harsh? Do I really have no taste? I'm nobody important and most of the time what I say has no leverage. I really tried to like the show as I was watching it. I was trying view it with an open mind, but I'm sorry I can't force myself to like it.

It sort of made think of that Gwen vs Fergie debate about who copied who. They are contemporaries deal with it.

Here are my picks for next years show:
Dave Grohl
No Doubt getting a whole halftime show the last time they shared the show with Shania Twain
A tribute to the 1990s
Blondie
Weird Al Yankovic
John Mellencamp
David Lee Roth
Jim Davis draws cartoons set to music and an appearance by Garfield too bad Lorenzo Music and Lou Rawls are dead.

A Black Eye is Worse than a Nipple, and a Zombie

I'd thought I'd start writing my blog now in case I forget

I'm happy I don't have to write a report on the game or something for a class.

I was waiting all afternoon to watch Lea Michele sing. I noticed Christina Agulara messed up the national anthem. I thought now with modern technology nobody sings "live" during national anthems during big sporting events. I know Jewel didn't. I remember there being a controversy about her prerecording it.

After than I partook in Brittany's cracker and cheese recipe.

The halftime show really sucked. I think the Oscillating air purifier should have taken Slash's place.

I ate too much, and was too full to make a "grilled cheeseus".

I thought the best commercial was the one with the pug in it for Doritos. I like pugs. I thought the Chevrolet Glee one that aired during the game was too "Mattress" for me.

I'm sure Shirley and the boys are happy about the outcome of the game.

The post Super Bowl Glee episode didn't really disappoint. If it did I was going to compare it to Friends. There are/were a lot of similarities. Between the series. I feel that season 2 of both shows weren't as good as season 1. Both shows had a post Super Bowl episode in their 2nd season. The "California Gurls" opening was ok. It sort of reminded me of the Cheerios routine of "Ray of Light" from "The Power of Madonna" episode. Quinn looked cute with blue hair. I know Glee isn't supposed to be realistic in any sense, but why not have JV players make up the championship team? I did like the zombie scene with everybody. It gave me ideas for Halloween. The guys singing in zombie makeup to a Zombie's song was ok. Hearing "Bills, Bills, Bills" made me think of high school. My former neighbors were big Destiny's Child fans with loud speakers. The ending with Sue didn't do it for me. I wish they would have showed her failing in some way at the competition than just being interviewed. It seemed cheap, and I felt cheated. The ending was the opposite of "Funk". Why didn't Beasite or anybody with football knowledge teach the girls about football? Anything; plays, formation, how the game works. The ending sort of reminded me of "Preggers", and the Disney cartoon Football Now and Then. Actually "Preggers" and "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle" trick plays remind me of that cartoon. The misspelled tattoo was hilarious! I was disappointed by the lack of Emma. She could have been really integral to this episode. I know this episode was catering to the non-gleeks, but it seemed like a chopped up episode with pieces of other episodes in it. Sure there was some new stuff and character and plot development.

Friendship Bracelet Sweatshop

I forgot I wrote this. I found it when I was working on that Glee recipe blog. This blog is a companion blog to Keep the Group Intact Now.

It’s registration time.

Remember I wrote a proposal to my former memoir classmates if they wanted to reform an intact group they would have to pay my fees to get me back into class? Then I remembered about the friendship bracelets. I’m proposing they should to this or something similar. Any handicraft would work if there is a market for it.

Perhaps you know this story or you were involved in it, and put together who wrote this.

I don’t remember all the details of this story, but here is the gist of it. A girl in my class wanted to be a cheerleader, but she didn’t have enough money to pay for it. My teacher was teaching an art class and her class made friendship bracelets out of yarn. At first we just traded the bracelets among each other in the class. Then they became popular throughout the whole school.

One day the teacher brought a bunch of fancy yarn to school, and had us make bracelets to sell. Here’s how the operation worked; the class would make the bracelets, we would hand them off to her where she would burn them to seal them. After they were sealed they were put into bags of 5 and given to us to sell. I think they sold for $0.25 each.

There were some problems first I was bad a making bracelets. I didn’t know how to braid. Nobody taught me, so how was I supposed to know? I just made shoddy “twisty” bracelets. (twirling 2 pieces of yarn together) A lot of the kids did really fancy macramé type stuff. After I did learn how to braid I wanted to braid everything. Ended up braiding the hair on my Barbies, My Little Ponies and any other toy that had hair I could braid.

After a while nobody wanted to buy the bracelets. The market was flooded with them. Then I got sick of making bracelets. There was always time scheduled in the day to make them. A thinly veiled art project.

At first I thought it was a good thing, or at least I did because everybody was telling me it was. My mom thought it wasn’t fair, and I didn’t realize what I was doing until I watched The Simpsons.

I had recently watched the Kamp Krusty episode of The Simpsons. Back then I couldn’t really articulate my ideas very well, and I was trying to say that what we were doing was very similar to the sweatshop scene in that episode except we were making bracelets instead of wallets. The teacher just brushed me off, and said I watched too much tv.

When ever I watch the Kamp Krusty episode I think of the bracelets. I don’t remember if we earned enough money or not or if it subsidized the cost.

The only good thing that came out of this was that I learned how to braid.

Food Recipes (reciglees)

Think of this as the companion blog to Emma Would Eat That

I think there should be a glee brand sandwich maker. It would be something official to make a “grilled cheeseus” on.

I like the glee recipes that are posted on the Fox website. Why is there a recipe from Brittany? I like hers though it’s easy, and I have all the ingredients on hand. Maybe I’ll make a grilled cheeseus, but I don’t know. I didn’t like Emma’s sandwich recipe. I’m very particular about my sandwiches, and I don‘t like PB&J on toasted bread. I don’t want to make my own tots. I’ll just get a bag of them in the frozen food section. After thinking about tots I thought about Kip from Napoleon Dynamite, and I want to make some nachos like he did in the movie.

I really hope that the episode airs right after the post game show and that the station doesn‘t decide to air old syndicated Simpsons or news or something. I remember that happened on CBS when they showed the post game show, news and then Survivor. The post game shows usually run long anyway. During that time I can make some food.

I really hope the episode lives up to all the hype. I hope it's not like Friends was. That post Super Bowl episode was pretty lackluster. There were a few good moments like Marcel coming back. I do plan on writing a review on the Glee episode.

Punxsutawney!

Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring.

But he inspired me to make a Halloween costume. I was thinking about this for a while. I think it's cute/creative when people dress as something from another holiday on Halloween like Santa or conversation hearts. I would like to dress up as Punxsutawney Phil; the groundhog. I have not committed to anything yet. It's only February and Phil is just an idea.

There is a "Punxsutawney Pete" fursuit/mascot costume for sale.
