I feel a bit off today. Maybe I didn't sleep well or something. I was falling asleep writing my Wrestlemaina blog. One of my neopets got sick. My ixi seems to get sick a lot more than my other pets.
While I was waiting for the bus I saw a cute little Jack Russel looking dog. It kind of looked like Veela. (That's Shirley's dog)
The funny thing was that I was rocking out to Blondie and walking to class. I didn't even notice that my teacher was right behind me. I think I'm losing it. Maybe that's why was "a little off" I usually listen to No Doubt or Garbage.
Not having a spring break doesn't bother me. I like starting late it means I don't have to go to school on Valentines Day. When it falls on a weekday. I use to get denied one when I went to year round school in grades 3 and 4. A lot of people who don't get one just make their own.
For some reason I can't seem to finish 3 of my stories. It sucks because they are due soon. *gasp*. I didn't realize I had an assignment due for class. Maybe I'll use that Golden Apple Shirley meeting story for class. I don't know. I haven't decided yet.
Remember one important thing don't burn bridges and always network.

I Need Some Cred
This is a joke blog.
Ok how can I get some cred here?
What is the snobbiest No Doubt and Garbage album to listen to? Is it “Beautifulgarbage” and “No Doubt”? I don’t mean among the No Doubt and Garbage fans I mean among the music snobs/elitists.
I’m not a “real” fan right? Because I like the “popular” albums. My favorites are “Tragic Kingdom” and “Garbage”. The only reason I like those 2 albums is because I fell in love with them in junior high and they bring back nostalgic memories. What an awkward little 7th grader I was. I also use to listen to “Jagged Little Pill” a lot back then too. That album is probably frowned upon too. Just to point out do own both of their complete discography of No Doubt and Garbage; all 7 of No Doubt’s albums and all 5 of Garbage’s albums. Although I think 2 other “popular” albums are “Rock Steady” and “Version 2.0”.
Which made me think what songs are the fan favorites among fans and non fans? “Only Happy When it Rains” and “Don‘t Speak”?
What is the “purest” way to listen to a No Doubt or Garbage album? Maybe you are suppose to listen to a Garbage album while drinking a Gin Daisy? No wait I got it! You listen to “Sex is not the Enemy” while jumping on the bed. For No Doubt let’s see… you listen to “The Beacon Street Collection” while cruising the streets of Anaheim driving past the Beacon Street house. I guess you would listen to “Sunday Morning” while eating spaghetti. Oh wait! We didn’t even get into formats. Which situation calls for which format? CD? Cassette? Vinyl? Digital file? I’m pretty sure they don’t have any releases on 8 Track.
You can’t be a “bad” fan either. You need to get the song titles right. What could be worse than meeting a musician and telling them you love some song they perform, but you call it by the wrong title. Would they end up telling you something like this “How dare you call yourself a fan! Get the song title right! Get away from me! You don‘t deserve to be my fan anymore!”
But I think Shirley Manson doesn’t think this way. She would not have written something like this ”A big hand of love to everyone who has ever gone crazy for one of our tracks, laughed and screamed and cried at one of our shows, stuck us on an homemade compilation, written us a letter, called themselves a Garbage fan or even acted like one. To you and to all my, family bandmates and friends, Peace x.”.
Should I even be listening to them at all? They are too mainstream. I should be listening to some obscure female fronted band nobody has ever heard of. Golly…I need to do some research and a lot of studying. :x
I’ll just take 2 of my mom’s albums: “On the Beach” by Neil Young and “Blonde on Blonde” by Bob Dylan. Think my mom is a music snob? Nah. She just likes these artists.
I know how to bump up my cred! I’ve been listening to Blondie since I was 8! Wait there is no way to prove that unless you knew me at 8. Oh well… *shrugs*
I also need some cred in the anime department too.
My favorite anime series is Sailor Moon! @o@ *faints* Yeah I know I’ve mentioned that before; numerous times.
I shouldn’t be allowed to be an anime fan or even watch any series with some “depth” to them. I guess I’ll be relegated to watching stuff like Dragonball and Pokemon. Poor me!
Actually I think of those series as “gateway anime” you know like “gateway drugs”. Some people are like the occasional drinker/smoker. They watch a little bit of anime sometimes when they are in the mood to. Then there would be somebody like your chain smoker/alcoholic who pretty much only likes one series/genres and only watches that. There would also be the people how get into harder drugs or in this case more obscure anime. One person thinks Eureka Seven is like Ecstasy. Which is funny since I really like that series and I’m rewatching it.
I even heard about some guy who was going to raise his kids on Ojamajo Doremi aka Magical Doremi for you dubbies out there. (I‘m assuming subs of this series or even possibly the raw Japanese version) I just have one question. What if they don’t like it? I mean like when you parent(s) want you to be in Little League and you hate baseball.
How dare I call myself a fan of anything because I don’t like the obscure. I guess I’m too uncool for my own good. Which is better than thinking I’m cool and better than everyone else.

NKOTB or Blondie?
I'm in a music blog mood today. Remember when I mentioned how I started listing to Blondie at 8? This is the long winded story of the origins of my Blondie fandom.
Who is my favorite boy band…?
Shai…? No.
Silk…? No.
Boyz II Men…? No. Although I do have one of their tapes
The Meaty Cheesy Boys?
Party Posse?
Fingerbang?
I know Dudez-a-plenti!
This is the long story about how I got into Blondie. I’m going to tell it as best as I can from memory since I didn’t keep a diary back then.
Back when I was in like 1st grade most or all of the girls in my class use to fuss over The New Kids on the Block. Back then I didn’t listen to a lot of music. I use to listen to my Disney Children’s Favorites albums. Those are old school. They are the Disneyland Records label. That label doesn’t even exist anymore. Plus I love the cover art on those albums. It has pictures of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Clarabelle Cow, and even Horace. The ones on the wikipedia are the new version. The old albums had a bunch of different characters on the cover. I think Wendy from Peter Pan is on the back of one. This blog has pictures of the old album covers.
The song book
If you were a kid back in like ‘86 you remember the commercial. It’s one of those things that has been stuck in my mind for all these years. I love the commercial.
There was also the classic rock my parents listened to. The funny thing was that at a young age I knew I didn’t really like classic rock. I mean my dad turned me off Hendrix by constantly playing his music. My mom listens to like 70s country rock like Neil Young. She loves Bob Dylan.
I didn’t really have an interest in NKOTB. I didn’t want the dolls or call their 1-900 phone number.
I just want to say I did try to give New Kids a chance. I remember one time my mom wanted to know why I was watching them on tv. To my recollection I had never watched the cartoon. I think it ran against the Muppet Babies.
I would just get so sick of the girls in class arguing about who was the biggest fan, and which member was cuter. They would also kiss their NKOTB lunchboxes.
Perhaps this explains my preference for female fronted bands? But a bad song is a bad song no matter if it is sung by a male or a female or even male and female duo. The same rules apply to a good song.

Easter
This Easter I don’t know I was just feeling nostalgic. I was thinking about the old glitter eggs egg dying kit commercial they use to show on tv a lot back in the 80s. For some reason it isn’t on youtube. I was also thinking about the classic Cadbury egg commercial with the auditions.
Yesterday when my mom was dying eggs the set came with some stamp markers and I don’t know why I went crazy for them. I can just be so childish sometimes. She dyes eggs for my dad. I don’t like dyed eggs. I really don’t see the point of them anymore. I haven’t since they don’t have anything inside them like the plastic ones could.
I got a Blondie CD as a present. It made me think about how much I like them and how I listened to them before I started listening to No Doubt and Garbage. Some of those songs are just so badass like “One Way or Another” and “Rip Her to Shreds”. You know what’s kind funny? Back when I first got into Blondie at like the age of 8 my “hip” cousins on my dad’s side didn’t know who they were. Maybe I’ll write an album review. I don’t know I haven’t decided yet.
Even though I'm still sick I ate a lot of ham. :P
