Lies, Lies, Using Lies as Alibis

The 30 Rock joke about Krang was so funny! And I'm not even a TMNT fan! When they said that line I was laughing so hard. I read a blog where the blogger use to blog about Krang so much. (not my blog)

Why do I hate Hazel so much? Am I suppose to? She kind of looks like some girl I went to high school with. (The girl just looked like her I did not go to school with Kristen Schaal) I didn't realize the actress who plays Hazel also does the voice of Louise from Bob's Burgers. Louise is my favorite character.

The part where Kenneth says he lies to himself was also really funny. Kenneth:“I lie to myself every morning when I wake up. I don’t know how much longer I can do it.”
It sounds like something I'd tell myself. While wearing a
scowl or sour look on my face.

Leap Day William

The 30 Rock episode Leap Day introduced me to a lot of new things.

There were a lot of Leap Day traditions I took from the 1996 Frasier episode "Look Before you Leap". Things like singing "Buttons and Bows". I that watched 16 years ago.

But I learned some new traditions like wearing yellow and blue. (that reminded me St. Patrick's Day) Carols and a movie marathon (like Christmas) Candy for kids (Halloween) A holiday mascot (various holidays).

All the people wearing yellow and blue made it look like they went to one of my old ementary schools or maybe UCLA Bruins fans.

Cloud this be the new Festivus? I would only celebrate Leap Day every 4 years anyway.

Hey NBC are you reading this?

Faker than Fake

I feel like Liz in the most recent episode of 30 Rock. "The Tuxedo Begins"

This job hunt is going bad. First off the people are mad because I ask for their name unless I read it off a name tag or something. Somebody gave me a fake name! I'm only doing it for that stupid assignment if I wasn't required to I wouldn't do it. (When I do that it is not mandated by the government I never ask for names)

Do I look that crazy, threatening or weird? I wasn't even wearing improperly secured odangos. (that is my "deranged" hairstyle which happened by accident)

I didn't notice that I had grey in my hair due to a hair product I use. If I use too much dry shampoo it looks like I have grey streaks. I stopped caring; plus I am old and it blends in with my mouth wrinkles. (yes I'm that old!)

I do not look like a villain from Batman. Although I wish I had Harley's body shape. Maybe I should just go around in red and black clothes, wear pigtails and talk with Brooklyn accent. I forgot the white face paint! I think I could pass for a deranged tourist or something. Maybe I'll dress as a Sailor Moon villain instead.

Goodbye Michael

I installed Firefox 4 yesterday. I had a hard time getting use to it, so I knew my dad would. He is totally technology inept. Such a n00b! I didn't want to be bothered to try and teach him how to use it and have him constantly yell the phrase "I DON'T KNOW!" at me. Me helping him to try and use it will be a disaster in a bottle. That's my new catch phrase. Does it suck? Is it too insensitive?

Michael's departure on The Office was good. Toby's brother Rory was hilarious! Dwight got the recognition he wanted from Michael. it was funny when Deangelo was making food on the coffee maker, getting pumped at the animal shelter, and eating the cake.
Michael should get some za in Colorado. Too bad Sbarro is closing a lot of locations.

30 Rock was really funny too. Liz going to city hall was so funny. It was like the time I was trying to get a street light fixed on the street I use to live on. I don't know if it got fixed or not eventually I moved away. The montage scene was funny. It reminded me of the Street Frogs. (if you don't know what that is look it up. )

High on the Gas

The 100th episode of 30 Rock was ok. I was kind of disappointed. It sort of reminded me of the Just Shoot Me episode Lemon Wacky Hello. There was another show I saw with a similar plot where somebody wrote something when they were high on something and then realized it's nonsense. But it's not the Seinfeld episode (The Heart Attack) when George goes to the holistic healer.

Danny isn't seen in the show much. I totally forgot about him.

At least they showed a clip from one of my favorite episodes "Sandwich Day'.

Chicken Ad

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. I've had a lot on my mind.

I thought the live 30 Rock episode was ok. I saw the West coast version. It was sort of confusing. The thing I like about 30 Rock is the random flashbacks and fantasy sequences. I like the absence of a laugh track. Those went out in the 90s.

Community wasn't very good this week. It was just a KFC ad. I didn't think it was all that funny. You know what scripted show did a great product placement episode? Arrested Development. It's funny I was just thinking about that episode Sunday. It was because my dad mentioned Carl Weathers. I associate him more with AD than being a football player.

I can't believe nobody in Survivor thought to eat the rooster. It's male it doesn't produce eggs. The 2 hens will even if there is no rooster around. I learned that on Take a Look. Neonka is funny before the switch she was knocking people over for an immunity clue. Then when she switched tribes she was crying in the rain. Huh?

I have an idea for KCET now that they aren't going to be a PBS station in a few months. They are still going to show educational shows. Here is a list of some shows I think would be a good idea to show on the station.

Oceans Alive
shows produced by AIT like Fins, Feathers & Furs and Econ and Me
TV Ontario shows like Today's Special and You Can Write Anything
Word Pup
Captain Kangaroo
Zoobilee Zoo
Zebby's Zoo (not a very good show)
New Zoo Review
Bookmice
The Office (UK)
Coupling (UK)
anime
Using Maps and Globes
The Big A
Math Films
Weston films
DW
Slim Goodbody shows
Huggabug Club
Ghostwriter?
Classic Arts Showcase

Cut The Glut!

My readers and who ever else has stumbled across this blog knows I can be overly verbose at times and write long drawn out blogs. Like something Fraiser Crane would write.

I think I noticed this about some of the people in my memoir class; not all of them. A lot of them want to be published writers. It seems that is all they are focused on. I don't know I guess it's just my age or something. I feel now with the internet anybody can pretty much publish anything anywhere. I mean if you are looking for a specific story genre or subject you are likely to find it. To be honest if I never got paid for my writing I wouldn't be upset. I like to write to uh..."get the stress out", or something like that. Especially with my dad always around.

I almost got put in a group with a the girl who has the same first name as me. Did I mention that before? The worst thing is that we have last names that start with the same letter too. It can be quite confusing. It made me think about the 2 Kellys in The Office. Well later one of them became known as Erin. That is not awesome. Maybe I'll incessantly talk about celebrities and use the word "awesome" a lot in a true Kelly fashion. Maybe I should just go by my middle name like Kelly "Erin" Hannon did.

Here is a little antidote from class. If anybody from class happens to read this :0 I didn't have a problem with any of you. Anyway we had to some peer editing. I thought my story was "bad" since it was not very long, and I felt was not very descriptive. But it wasn't as "bad" as I thought it was. We ended up reading another story that didn't belong to anybody in the group the funny thing was that the journalists said to get to the point and don't really use overly descriptive language. I'd better trim the fat from some of my stories.

I found a mistake in 30 Rock today. In the episode "Don Geiss, America and Hope" they said Legoland is in LA. It's really in San Diego. They should have mentioned In N Out instead if they had the rights to and such.

Miscellaneous Blog #22

I haven't written one of these in a month?

Ok first off I want to say that the latest episode of 30 Rock reminded me of a fan fiction story I wrote 2 years ago during the strike. I use to get a lot of writing done in my boring US History class. I use to write blogs and fan fiction in there. I also use to make some great doodles. I guess it would be inevitable to have Tracy strike against something.

While I was looking for something I found some more Hello Kitty themed costumes. I will not call these Hello Kitty costumes because I feel they aren't really dressed up as Hello Kitty.
This one is called Rockabilly. It's cute. I like the Rockabilly style. Not sure if I could ever pull off wearing that style. You need to look a little more polished for that style. Hello Kitty and Rockabilly are 2 things I never though of putting together.
This one is called Charleston. Flapper? Who knew Hello Kitty traveled back in time to the 1920s? Prohibition? Oh wait Hello Kitty can't drink anyway. She's like 8.
I'm not sure of the name of this one. It's some type of sock hop outfit. It's cute. I wish the shirt was a little longer. I might wear that. I could see Hello Kitty doing a 1950 sock hop theme/motif. With lots of rainbows, milkshakes, and a jukebox.
The Harajuku costume makes sense. Hello Kitty was created in Japan. Well except I think this costume is horrid looking.

I already wrote about the sexy knockoff version and the official version.

You know the trend this fall in hair color is...brown. Ugh! :P (that is a disgusted tongue emoticon)

During the time that my computer was broken I kept tweeting on twitter. Since I was just sending the messages by text I wasn't sure how many characters were in my message, so I made this. It's a twitter character counter. It's helpful and really low tech. :/

Who Graduates in 4 Years?

This is a companion blog to this. I realized there are some other things I forgot to mention.

Who really graduates in 4 years from college now? I think out of all the people I know like 2 of them have. I’m not even sure if that’s true because they could have just forged a graduation year on their profile. One person who wrote that I think they did because they were one of the smarter people in my high school class. Some of the other smart people I’m surprised it took them like 5-6+ years to do it.

According to this article I read not many people do graduate in 4 years. Who wouldn’t want great toys and vacations? Going to class it tedious and boring. Plus it doesn’t bring in any money. I know that first hand. To be honest I’d rather have a job than go to some boring college classes. I use to think backwards about this, but now I don’t.

The one thing that confuses me about this article is that is says not to take a bunch of classes concurrently at bunch of different schools. Why not? What if the class you wanted at one school is full? Or the class is just not offered?

Personally I know that some classes don’t transfer because they are low level. You have to just build up. I mean I was taking remedial math at CSUF. It wasn’t even college level. I’m not afraid to admit this. A smart thing to do would to check the course description and see if it transfers. Usually there is some indication that it does or doesn’t.

There was another job I neglected to mention. Maybe I could be an NBC page like Kenneth from 30 Rock, or course I’d have to get a job in Burbank since I don’t live in New York. I’m not good with people, but I think if it was something I was really passionate about I could do it. I do like television. I don’t know if I would say I love it in it’s current state.

You Don’t Want to see the World the Way I Do

After watching the 30 Rock episode “Apollo Apollo!” It made me think about the way I see things. Kenneth my favorite character saw the world as puppets. Kenneth has that child like simpleton quality about him. I think if he was a real person we’d be friends. I’m not an optimist or anything. But I have been ridiculed for liking childish things. As I was watching Lambchop I was thinking about this. (I do enjoy watching puppets. You can laugh at me for this.)

I complied a list of some of my favorite simple pleasures as a kid:
Puppets, soda, kids’ toiletries, prize toys (like the kind you‘d get in cereal boxes and Happy Meals), birthday cards with cartoon characters on them, magic shows, balloons, getting my face painted, contorting into small spaces, stuffed animals, playing in the mud, coloring/stamping on my hands, cheap toys and stationary, stickers, and bandages.

I wish I could still look at the world like I use to. You know like when you are a kid and you see something as something else. Like when a stick can be a sword or a wooden post in your yard can be a microphone stand.

I feel that as I’ve aged this ability has weakened. Some people say I still have it, but it’s not as strong as it was.

I’m not all sunshine and rainbows though. I never was. I hate when people assume that about me. I wonder what the world look like through my eyes? I think it would be partially cutesy and partially terrifying at the same time.

The funny thing about this episode is when Jack watches a film of himself as a boy. He opens a present and he’s so excited about it he vomits.

I remember being really excited when I received some gifts. There is this picture of me at Christmas when I’m like 3 or 4 looking so happy brushing the hair on my Lady Lovelylocks doll. Too bad she didn’t last long and her head fell off in about 92 or 93. Head and neck problems are common in those dolls, and also for Peppermint Rose and 10 inch Skipper dolls.

But I can honestly say at any age I’ve never been so excited about something it made me vomit.
