Enviro-“mental”

I had this strange dream about my parents my mom had the power to teleport she was bothering me while I was trying to cook leeks for soup or something. My dad was upset because his Buick got in an accident and was totaled. He was also upset because somebody offered to buy the broken car off him for $1.25.

I forgot it was Earth Day until I saw it mentioned on The Price is Right. I wrote a funny Earth Day tweet referencing a lyric from "What are we Gonna Do?". I wrote "Happy Earth Day send the message".
Later when I was looking for a video on one of my tapes I found the video for the Dramarama song "What are we Gonna Do?" this was purely coincidental I was looking for a Moby video.

Back in 1999 my high school threw an Earth Day fair type thing. I remember part of the outfit I wore that day. I wore a blue jacket with a black faux fur collar and a pikachu shirt. It looks like the jacket Gwen is wearing in this picture. I was my first time wearing that pikachu shirt to school. The jacket was low cut, so the pikachu was prominently shown.

I spent most of my time with my friend and her boyfriend. The games were free. Most of the prizes given out were mostly junky fish shaped things. They reminded me of my pet fish. A few games were giving out erasers.
They were those ones that look like the world. The student government was making and giving out balloon animals. The problem was that they hadn’t practiced, and there were only 2 girls making them. When we got there it looked like they were just opening up a klutz book and a pack of balloons. About 1%-3% of the students at the fair got a balloon animal or hat.

The food was gross. The only food they were selling were overly greasy Rice Krispie treats and cucumber with chili powder on top. My friend bought some treats and they were so greasy we could barley hold on to them. They were sliding out of our hands, and they were wrapped.

I got bored with hanging out with my friend and her boyfriend. I was just a 3rd wheel. I decided to wander around on my own. I "ran into" my crush twice. Later I ran into my math tutor. There was a craft area and I tried to make some kind of pom pom animal with tacky craft glue, but it fell apart. I purposely ran into my crush, and told him that the ugly necklace he made was good. I wanted him to comment on my coat. There were also some sea animals that could be pet. I pet those. Then I wanted to play a game and the guy running it (a student) said let the Pokemon girl play. I thought this was hilarious.

In my class after the fair most of the people in the class were pelting each other with the erasers given as prizes. That class was composed of mostly hooligans, and the teacher had no control over the class.

When my math teacher saw a balloon dog somebody had. He said it was made wrong. He tired to fix it. He said somebody's balloon hat looked pornographic. (it sort of did)

Pricing Fool

While I was trying to watch Fallon somebody was singing loudly and badly at 12:44 AM. This went on for about 15 minutes. After I thought about it could this have been am April Fools joke? The signing was pretty bad. I could hear it from at least 3 houses away.

I was disappointed Jimmy Fallon didn't read my tweet on the air. I thought this one was actually good.

The price is right 10,000th something episode was really funny! It was really an April Fools episode. Too bad Mimi wasn’t in this one. This was more of a mishap show. There was a lot of funny things that happened. I think the mention of the 10,000th was a nod to the show celebrating milestones. It was something for the loyal friends and true. (too bad they don't use that phrase anymore)

When squeeze play wouldn’t work it reminded me of when it didn’t back in the Barker era. It would have been funnier if after it squeezed and drew revealed the price it fell out of the game. This really happened on the show (non-April fools)

I loved Drew’s literal instructions on how to get tickets to the show by going online. It was like he was talking to my parents who are around his age.

Richard was a crazy contestant who just added to the craziness. It was funny when the jumped in the shower! I liked when the contestants row display didn't work. When the screen that they use for trips didn't work I thought it would have been funny if they had used those old pictures they used before they had the screens.

Here are some ideas they could have done that they didn’t:
Upside down price tags
Using those old pictures for trips
Having drew read a blank card that has the price on it for bidders row
Having the wheel not beep and making the audience do it.
Have the inflatable toys deflate on stage
Have the number display on the big wheel not work

Reminiscing about Holly

This will be the last time I complain about Roberto's announcing. Unless he gets the job as announcer. He is just auditioning. I just want to say one thing about the role of the announcer on The Price is Right. That person has a pretty important role on the show. They describe the prizes and narrate the showcases. But if the show changes way too much I'll say it won't make it past season 42. It's on 39 right now. They have already gotten rid of the pantomimed showcases (which I personally liked), got rid of animals up for adoption (I heard that was discontinued due to Drew using a cordless mic and that the frequency would bother the animals), Adding random celebrities in the show, and too many theme shows. I do enjoy the Halloween ones. I'm not sure who the show is trying to cater to. College students?

When I first got the internet I found this website that had all these old tv theme songs (audio files) and it also had (the old) The Price is Right queue music. I would play it and announce fake prizes over the music. If I was a real announcer I would be a horrible one. I tend to mumble things. Here's what I would sound like "Bikes (mumbling)...Huffy." I use to think that voice over work and voice acting are the same thing. Speaking of queue music did The Price is Right start using old Finders Keepers queue music?

I have mentioned Holly occasionally in my blog. I remember some of the games she would help with like turning the turntables for Plinko and punching the numbers on the giant calculator for Check Out before it became automated. I'll rephrase that the game became automated sometime after she left the show.

I didn't realize the median age of people who watch the show is 63. So that means me and an 89 year old are evening it out.

Former Price

I had been planning to write a blog about Heathcliff all summer, but never got to it. There is this one picture I needed for my blog that I can't seem to find. It's a picture I physically own. Well it won't make or break the blog if I can't find it. I'm hoping to post the Heathcliff blog tomorrow. Here is a picture of him as a treat.

I was watching the new season of The Price is Right today. I just can't get into the new announcer. Did they mic the models? Liked when they were silent. I don't know maybe the show has changed too much for my taste.

Repeating Trite Phrases

You know my dad STILL doesn’t know how to send emails with attachments in them. Didn’t I mention this before? I’m pretty sure I did. Ok well I need to help him do it since he can’t do that kind of stuff on his own even though he thinks he can. The fun thing is when I do what he does to me back to him. The problem with my dad is that he likes to tell you a bunch of trite phrases. So I just to it back to him concerning his inability to use computers. Hell he did it to me when I couldn’t grasp algebra and he “tutored” me. Oh yeah and when I was a bad driver. This is what he likes to say “You have to learn how to do this on your own”. So I just say it back to him.

I forgot I had to explain to him what internet bookmarks are. @.@

So you know that venture I was talking about doing. I’m having second thoughts about it. I mean at first I was just going to go out and do it. But then I realized I’d better not in case there are some scheduling conflicts. It’s not like I need to tell my parents what I’m doing. It’s just that they should know. (It‘s nothing bad though) I’m not sure though my dad still needs to be babysat while he uses the computer.

Mary Travers died and so did Henry Gibson. I know who Mary Travers is she was in Peter, Paul and Mary. Henry Gibson. I really don’t know who he is. I have never seen an episode of Laugh-in. It made me think of this. Read #2.

I don’t know why my dad thinks I’m an idiot and thinks he has to explain all the jokes on Saturday Night Live. You know this is one of the reasons I hate watching tv with him.

Since I mentioned Weekend Update. Let’s play “Really” again in the spirit of Weekend Update.

You think I don’t get the jokes on the show?
Really?
I’ve been watching this show since I was 11 and getting the jokes?
Really?
You don’t think I know who Jimmy Carter is?
Really?
Just because I wasn’t alive during his administration I don’t know about him?
Really?
And I learned nothing in those US History classes I took?
Really?
This has been Really?

Oh yeah how cool is this? Drew Carey replied to a tweet I twittered to him. ^-^
Here’s what I tweeted to him: ”@TPIRhost Is there going to be a Halloween themed episode this year? I really liked the last 2."
He tweeted back: “TPIRhost@pikapal We already taped Halloween show. Our best yet! Don't want to give the costumes away, but you'll all want to copy them. :)”
I wonder what that means?

Actually I was thinking about the Halloween episode from 2008 when he had a wild hair style and an ax in his head. I remember he kept hitting the contestants with the ax by accident. Actually Halloween is very important to Price fans since that was the day in 2006 that Bob mentioned he was retiring.

Oh yeah Glee and Community are funny shows.

I bought some goodies at the dollar stores to blog about. I need to take pictures of the items.

Are you a Fan?

Why do fans snub other fans? I’m talking about fans of the same thing within a fan community? It seems really silly although there are jerky fans in any community. I’m not going to single out particular groups, but I have dealt with some pretty jerky fans. These are all groups I associate myself with. I’m not going to make fun of groups I don’t belong to like say Jonas Brothers fans.

The Winx club fans can be jerky sometimes. I remember this one time I got chewed out on a Winx Club message board because I misspelled “enchantix” as “enchantrix”. I make a note now on message boards stating that I am a native speaker of English, but a bad speller. I also hate it when the fans insist you use the original Italian names. I know some of them like Layla is Aisha. So if they use that one I won’t get confused. I totally forget the names of the schools though.

OMG! I talked to one of the silliest Sailor Moon fans online. She got mad because the Skye Sweetnam (what happened to her?) song “Hypocrite” mentions Sailor Moon. In my personal opinion I think the song is taking about not calling Skye a hypocrite. I’m not really sure I have not listened to the song.

LOLZ! Like Don’t totally say that!
Category: Web, HTML, Tech
I read this little complaint on a message board
Title:"I'm Am Soo Mad! Sailor Moon Fans Please Come Here
I know it may be petty but i found out someone tried to bash sailor moon in a song!!!!!It's old though. here is the part:[it's by Skye sweetnam]
Bubble gum brainiac
Baby girl, ultra brat
Angst Schmangst
No thanks
Hope my record doesnt tank
Sailor moon, Rainbow brite
Anime,Avril lite
Pro tools all the way
Hey,hey,hey,hey
chorus:
Dont try to label me hypocrite
Cause I will do what I want to
Some will say that I'm counterfeit
But I will be what I want to

I'm am beyond mad!!!!She shouldn't call sailor moon a hypocrite like that.she must not know the true meaning of sailor moon.Love and friendship.unlike her being a wanna be. Sailor moon isn't a hypocrite.she saves people with all her might.she would die to make someone else life ok.she had NOOO buieness saying that."
First off I don't know who is calling who petty here? Does it even matter? Of course not!
Omg I hope she doesn't ever hear One Week by the Barenaked Ladies. She'll Shit her pants.

This is the part of the song I’m referring to.

“Like Kurasawa I make mad films
'Kay I don't make films
But if I did they'd have a samurai
Gonna get a set of better clubs
Gotta find the kind with tiny nubs
just so my irons aren't always flying
off the back-swing
Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
that make me think the wrong thing.”

Back when I took Japanese I wanted to hide the fact that I liked anime because I didn’t want other people in the class thinking I was in there just because of anime. I don’t want to say it was one of the many reasons I wanted to learn Japanese. Like I’ve stated before those are the kind of people that get made fun of in your class by the other students especially if you don’t stop talking about anime. This type of student is mentioned in this article. Within the second week Sailor Moon was mentioned. It was just a matter of time before the series was. I use to hide my Sailor Moon fandom in my Japanese class. Which was so hard to do. It killed me.

There was also this annoying otaku girl. She was always boasting about her knowledge of anime, Japan, and the Japanese language. I felt she was very immature. I just want to tell her I’m sorry for snubbing you. That was wrong on my part. I took some bad advice.

*Hiragana is a form of Japanese writing. It is one of the three writing systems used in the Japanese language.

Tuesday, March 13, 2007
”We were learning some English loan words. Those are pretty easy. I'm still having trouble reading and writing Hiragana. Those 2 otakus got into a discussion about anime again when we learned the word "inu" which means dog and this girl brought the subject of Inuyasha. Which lead into a full blown anime discussion. Then some other people were naming other animes and the otaku girl was snobbing the most of the animes named. She said Digimon is crap. Now I wouldn't say it's crap, but it isn't that good. But I don't snub animes. Hey if you like Digimon, great. Cause I know there haters out there for every anime ever made. Dragonball haters, Pokemon haters, Inuyasha haters, Voltron haters, Sailor Moon haters, One Piece haters, Naruto haters, and so on. So this one girl says that Sailor Moon is the girls' version of Dragonball. So the otaku girl who was sitting behind me was saying that Sailor Moon is more "dark and twisted" than Dragonball. I really don't know I'm not a Dragonball fan. I've seen a few Z episodes, but that's about it. Those 2 girls were really getting into that discussion and talking over the teacher. They were really getting into the Sailor Moon discussion talking about the "cousins" and what they really are, the difference between Chibi Chibi and Rini/Chibiusa and other elements from the series. She was saying about how the manga is better than the anime, and I agree. She says she likes the Stars season/saga. I'm familiar with Stars. I mean I know the plot, but I've never seen it or read the manga. When it was break time so they left the room to carry on the discussion. Since I wasn't in on the discussion I didn't leave the room, plus I was still working on my Hiragana and I needed help from the teacher. When they came back the girl said she is not an otaku because they are way more into anime and manga than her, and if she not then I must be otaku extra lite. Then they said not to say anything bad in front of a Sailor Moon fan girl which they totally were, but didn't know, and I didn't want them to. Plus they were acting like all the fan girls would get pissed if they talked ill of Sailor Moon. Just for the record we are all not like that.”

I know a lot of fans of other wrestlers HATE John Cena fans. But I’m only going to talk about the Cena fans interacting with the other Cena fans. I’ll admit some Cena fans can be annoying. They write very inane things about Cena on the internet and usually only like him for his “hotness”. They usually claim he is the best wrestler ever. I want to say that I like Cena as much as the next person (who likes him), but I don’t like him based on his “hotness” or his “superior wrestling ability”. I like him because he is funny, passionate about his job, has good mic skills, and is good to his fans. They usually have silly Cena-centric user names like “future Mrs. Cena”, “Cena‘s wifey” or “Alice Cena”. They just make Cena their last name. This kind of user name is common I see it with many other celebrities last names.

I wasn’t planning on writing about these fans, but since Drew Carey addressed them in his blog and what they were writing about and to him I thought they deserved a little nod. I want to say that I have been to quote Bob here “A loyal friend and true” to the show since 1986. I’m not here to out fan any other Price fan. There are many fans of all ages who have been watching for different intervals of time. I just want to say that I belong to that site that Drew mentions. I don’t go on there or post there much, and when I do I mostly express my love for Holly (former Barker‘s Beauty who was fired in 1995 for gaining too much weight) and the retired game Superball. I feel my knowledge of Price is not very extensive. I do recommend going to that site if you want to see screenshots of old shows and to see/remember what old props, sets, and games looked like. I don’t know what happened between Drew and that site I remember they organized a fan chat together.
