Got My Leather Boots on, What do I Know

So I went to the Ferguson taping. Honestly I thought I wasn't going to make it. I mean like there would have been a problem aside from the rain.

Preparing to go was a bit of a problem. I had to dress warmly. Oh yeah and my nails are polished blue. I was so tempted to get some neon colored nail polish (either green or yellow) at the mall, but I opted for blue instead. I had to withstand the cold. My dad wanted me to layer a lot of shirts, but they just felt bulky and I couldn't move my arms much. I felt like Ralphie's little brother from A Christmas Story. Of course I wore my boots. Rain is good boot weather. I ended up wearing too much hairspray. I did need some because it was rainy, and my hair does get a little frizzy. I only use mega hold strength.

On the way over there we listened to appropriate music. Why Garbage music of course. Well only the debut album since the car I was riding in only had a cassette player. I didn't mind; that is my favorite Garbage album, and it has "Only Happy When it Rains"on it which is a rather fitting song for today. I also kept tweeting in the car.

First of all there was parking luckily! And it was free.

The wait in the rain wasn't too bad or long. It sort of reminded me of when I was in junior high and the school didn't have an indoor cafeteria it was just a covered patio area. The thing that bothered me was that the studio was really loose about the guidelines they had like dressing nicely. People were dressed pretty sloppily like with jeans, hats, and stuff like that. They also let people take in bags, purses and cell phones. Like I said before the dress code upset me more than the bags thing. I can travel minimally. I went to a high school with no lockers, and when you do space is a precious commodity in your backpack.

I liked some of the items they had for sale in the studio store; especially The Price is Right onesie. Start them off young. If I had a kid I'd put them in that. Plus it's gender neutral. It could be for a boy or a girl. It was a white onesie.

The warm up guy was annoying. He made me feel like I was back at a high school pep rally. Which coincidentally I usually get stuck sitting by an overly enthusiastic person, and I did back then and at the taping. The guy wasn't that funny. I've read better jokes on Bazooka wrappers. The one good thing was that I didn't have to hear the Animaniacs them song like 5 times. Actually that happened to me when I went to that game show taping back in '95. Since it was for kids' they played a bunch of kids' songs. I think they had a soundtrack CD from the show or something. I remember singing the Pinky and the Brain theme song too. Too bad they didn't play any Garbage songs. That would have been so appropriate. The guy also told us to introduce ourselves to the people around us. It was strange. I don't like to do that stuff. I'm really shy. The guy threw candy at the audience. I was hoping I'd get a Capri Sun too. That was what they fed us back at that other taping. I guess it was to keep us hyper and stuff. I remember one time when I watched
Ferguson and he did that segment where he reads mail somebody wrote to him and complained that they went to a taping and got hit in the head with a candy bar. The only reason I remember this was because this was featured in an episode that Shirley was a guest on (previously).

The studio is really small. It looks a lot bigger on tv. Also Craig seemed shorter than I thought he was. I was so tempted to ask where the bucket was to collect the leaks when it rains.

Shirley looked great. I'm not going to spoil what she talked about. Anyway it was really hard to hear what she was saying since they kept want us to applaud her. Well I guess I can hear what she says when I watch it on tv.

I had no idea who the second guest was who replaced Wayne Newton. He was some sports writer. Too bad Shirley could not have been the only guest.

After the show my dad and I went to a McDonald's and got a McRib. ^-^ It was very good. It was also my 2nd rib sandwich of the day. I ate a frozen one (from the dollar store) at home before we left for the show. It made me feel nostalgic.

Ironic Store Location

After that really lame yard sale, and me throwing in the towel. Surprisingly I did not get people who came from all those internet ads I posted. Enough about the yard sale though. So I thought I had a sweater to wear to the Ferguson taping, but I couldn't find it. The thing I hate is that when you are looking for something you need you can't find it. That mean I had to go to the mall and buy something.

It was hard to find something I liked all the sweaters were really cheap and thin. I almost ended up wearing something polyester. Shirts that are mostly polyester like 80% and greater remind me of 6th grade. The cashier had really pretty purple streaks in her hair. Maybe I should dye my hair purple again? It doesn't look bad with brown hair. After I change my color again. I can dye my hair at the end of the month/next year since I dyed it on Hallloween.

My mom told me the dreadful "D" word; "diet"! @0@

I went to the candy store and tried some candy called Techno Bears.
I'm a big gummi fan and I like tasting new gummi variates. They are very pretty and pearlescent. I wanted to buy them just because they were pearlescent. To my recollection I've never seen pearlescent gummis before. They are ok. The flavor is really intense. They are sour, but not like a sour patch kid. They are a different kind of sour. I can't really describe it.

I really wanted some licorice I was craving some the day before. I bought some gourmet licorice. You know the kind you can't really find in the store. I don't like to go to the candy store, and just buy candy that you can buy at the Walgreens or the dollar store.

Actually I was there because I wanted to show my mom some old nostalgia candy they sell there. She likes nostalgia candy.

There was also some Glee Gum. I didn't buy any, but will chewing it make me sing like Rachel or Kurt?

The thing I find really funny is that where there use to be a plus size store it got turned into a bakery! What an ironic store location! they sell some good cookies there. They taste like the kind they sell out of the Figi's catalogue.

She was upset because there were no personalized ornaments with her name on them. I mean her name wasn't even available. I didn't think my mom's name was too uncommon. I mean it's not "made up" or anything. My name wasn't there either; well it was sold out.

All I Needed was a Dead Seal

I know the title sounds funny, but it's a reference to the Frasier episode "The Seal Who Came to Dinner". If you read the rest of the blog you'll see why I reference this episode.
Ok so I know this post says I started writing it about 2 something AM.

This blog is about my yard sale. I know it hasn't happened yet... But I'd like to start this story from about 2-3 days ago. See last time I had a yard sale I realized I only sold one thing because my neighbor took pity on me or so my dad says, and aside from my dad trying to sabotage me. (like usual Wait! that should be in my rant blog) Never mind...

I thought one the reasons nobody came was that I didn't advertise very aggressively. All I had were some signs. This time I decided to post my sale on a bunch of free yard/garage sale listing sites. I think I posted at least 8 of them. I even put an ad on craigslist, but I think it got lost in the shuffle there. Just so nobody could track me down I used a fake name and phone number in the ads. Only the address was correct. After I posted the ad I started getting all these silly spam messages that said something like "Hi your yard sale looks great please come to mine.". It sort of reminded me of deviantart.

Another reason is and I'll admit this I sell junky items. I know there are a lot of yard salers out there. The ones looking for that sucker who sells some valuable thing for a penny because they don't do their research. I do/did my research. I know what will sell better online. Like when my mom told me to sell my MIB G3 My Little Ponies for $4. I could get like $7 selling them online!

Also I tend to sell a lot of small items which don't really get people's attention like something big like tires or a washing machine would.

When it's morning I have a feeling it's going to do badly. My mom really hoped I'd sell all my stuff. I didn't feel I would sell all of it, but I thought I would sell at least something. My goal was to sell 2 items. No matter if I sold all my items or none at all I decided this was my last yard sale. They aren't that successful. I'm sick of having them.

The first mishap was there was graffiti on the sidewalk in front of the house again! My dad got all worked up about this. So now he is on "graffiti patrol" again *rolls eyes*. That means more late nights of him up glaring out the window. I had mentioned this previously in The Rant Blog. I don't do "patrol" or be "on guard" anymore. He got mad at me because I wasn't "on guard". After this happened I tweeted about this. I saw the graffiti it doesn't look like a bomb. It looks like boundary graffiti.

The second thing was that my dad went shopping, and I had to wait until he came back to set up since I put my stuff at the end of the driveway to sell. I don't know he just didn't go shopping the day before?

Mishap number 3 my dad wanted to call the graffiti removal people, but they aren't open on Saturday, so he called the police instead. When he told me this it made me think about that Frasier episode. In that episode the police come to their dinner party. The Crane brothers are notorious in the show for throwing dinner parties that end in disaster. That is a running joke throughout the series. Actually I thought maybe the police would take pity on my lame yard sale, and buy something. I wasn't sure, but I could hope. So they come 2 of them in 2 separate patrol cars. They parked pretty sloppily and in the middle of the street. People were slowing down in front of my sale because the police were there. They were looking alright, but not at my sale. My dad was trying to help the police by pointing out "evidence" he found. See? Being a detective. LOL! XD The police told him the "evidence" he found wasn't really evidence. Too bad I couldn't sell anything to them.

I gave it like an hour after the police left, and nobody came so I just gave up. After my previous 2 yard sales. This one was the worst!

Preparation Day

I'm taking the day off to prepare for my yard sale. I will post about the happenings of it tomorrow. Actually this is my priority chain right now; yard sale, Ferguson taping, school registration.

Victory!..Sort of

I'm sure how this happened, but my plan worked. Which is funny since they usually don't. Ok so here was my plan. Yesterday I found out Shirley Manson was going to be a guest The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. What is this her 4th appearance? I was going to ask to go to the taping; no riding the bus alone this time. Even though it could have been a possibility. The funny thing is that I had a dream before I asked that I would be rejected. In my dream my mom told me not to focus on such silly things and focus on applying to school. (there are still a few things I need to straighten out.) Perhaps my guilt is speaking to me in my dream? The funny thing is that I took the rejection well in the dream.

I'm going to sweep school registration under the rug for now.

So I asked my dad and he said he would take me. I was more surprised that he said we could go. I had to tell him it was a taping for Ferguson's show. I guess he thinks I'm a big Ferguson fan or something. I don't know. I was only interested in going to his show because of the guest that he is having on the show. Why is that a strange concept to my dad? He told me he use to go to taping of things just for the guests and not for the show in particular. That's how he went to all those Midnight Special tapings. I think he also went to a few In Concert tapings too. I also thought "If he takes me does that mean I owe him a Raiders meet and greet?"

This did not come without a few problems. First of all you don't really get a ticket to the show is more like a pass. You are not guaranteed to see the show if you sign up for a pass. Secondly you are not allowed to take any kind of bag into the studio like purses or backpacks. (I feel like I'm back in high school). Thirdly there is a dress code for the show and you have to dress nicely. You are not allowed to wear hats, t-shirts or shorts. You can't go in there dressed like John Cena. What kind of a talkshow has a dress code for the audience!? That was beyond me. @.@ I wonder what you are allowed to wear during the summer?... That was like the worst rule! I don't have a lot of fancy clothes. It also said don't wear white clothes. Perhaps they don't film well? Too bad I was planning on wearing a school uniform like they told us to do when we went to the taping in '95. J/K :P Actually you couldn't anyway because my old school uniforms we wore white shirts. I won't be wearing a black nurse dress or a pink mini dress. :P I will be wearing my boots because I feel that is appropriate footwear.

Then it made me think "When was the last time I went to a tv taping? Oh yeah back in '95 when Seacrest snubbed me. "

When my dad told me it might rain I thought "Oh great! They are going to have to get out the bucket." Craig mentioned this to Shirley the last time she was a guest on the show. Then she told a Garbage related joke. If it does rain it will be a fitting weather pattern for Shirley's appearance.

If I do actually get in and stuff I'll give a full report if I'm not napping or something. I'd really like to see Shirley in person again.

Maybe next time I'll try to go to a taping of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Does anybody know if his show has a dress code? Or maybe The Price is Right... I can wear a t-shirt with Drew's picture on it or maybe even Rod Roddy or Olson.

Perspectives on Rudolph the red nose Reindeer

As I was watching Rudolph tonight there were a lot of things I didn't really think about when I watched it when I was a kid. For example the head elf complains the Hermy wasn't very productive. If he wasn't very productive and denied a break why didn't the head elf give up his 10 minute break to supervise Hermy?

Also this special is very sexist. The male elves wear blue and the female elves wear pink. I'm not including the supervisor elf who wears green.

Also Santa is a jerk. Who gives him the right to say about Rudolph? That's why he wasn't eating. It was the stress of being a jerk.

I also think that Rudolph's Shiny New Year happens during this show. Between Rudolph being a kid and reaching adulthood.

When I was a kid I use to watch this special, and see the part about the misfit toys. I use to think that if I didn't play with my toys they would end up there. It use to scare me as a kid. The misfit toys most of them remind me of those junky toys you find at the dollar store that don't work quite right. What is the deal with doll? I think she there because it's all in her head.

The bumble didn't really scare me it looks sort of goofy and reminds me of an Isotope slipper in some way.

It was funny because for a while I was referring to Yukon Cornelius as Don Cornelius. Rudolph and Hermy are riding the Soul Sled. I bet there are people who confuse the character from A Christmas Carol; Jacob Marley with Bob Marley.

It was funny when my dad referred to Hermy as a "boy". Also why does Hermy have a different hairstyle than the other elves? He does sort of look like a boy.

Miscellaneous Blog #25

Well I registered for school. the strange thing is that they said they were going to send me an email with important information. I registered at about 12PM and I still haven't gotten anything. The good thing was aside from that I registered without a hitch. It's so distrating when you are trying to register for school/get classes while your dad is yelling at you. There was no yelling, so it was pretty successful.

The new season of Scrubs was ok. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Too bad Elliot wasn't really in the episode at all. That new character Lucy is ok. I like that's she's neurotic. I like neurotic characters I guess it's because I'm a little neurotic too. Too bad Sunny couldn't stay. I really don't like Denise. I know a lot of the fans like her. At least they explained why the janitor left. Too bad they didn't say his name. Did they explain where Carla went? Is the medical school series like a spin-off or a continuation? That confuses me. Oh yeah and all the titles now start with "Our". Most of the ones that JD narrated started with "My" like "My American Girl". There were a few other ones that started with "Her" "His" or "Their" when another character was narrating an episode. Spoiler: The plot with Lucy and Allan was so predictable. How many times as this been done? 3?

Oh yeah and those cheer-ful Gap commercials are driving me insane! What does "talk to the moose mean anyway?"
